Panel discussion: Does Fairtrade really work?
Come along to the panel discussion to see to what extent Fairtrade really works. The panel will discuss the potential to change big companies, how it can help with sourcing from conflict torn areas of the world and how Fairtrade is adapting and evolving in fast changing times.

Volunteer Day at Eco Garden
As part of the Mayor of London’s volunteer scheme, Interact is holding an interaction day at London School of Jewish Studies Eco Garden.
Anyone between the ages of 16-25 is invited to get involved a make a real difference at a local nature reserve. Lunch is provided.

Food Growing Courses
For everything you ever wanted to know about how to grow your own veg and what to plant when, join Transition Primrose Hill on their series of food growing courses and discover just how easy it is to grown your own.

'Take a Step' Walk for Fairtrade
To mark Fairtrade Fortnight (27 February–11 March) there will be a Walk for Fairtrade through Camden.
A Fairtrade Breakfast will be served from 10am at The People's Supermarket, followed by a walk at 11am arriving at Thorntons Budgens in Belsize Park for a photo around 1pm.

Register for the Climate Week Challenge
Last years’ Climate Week Challenge was Britain's biggest ever environmental competition, with over 145,000 people participating in the one day and one-hour versions.

Camden schools go green with new Low Carbon Service
All sustainability leads in Camden’s schools are invited to attend a celebration event of the pilot Collaborative Low Carbon School Service (CLCSS)
Tim Coulson, Assistant Director (Achievement) of Children Schools and Families, together with the Carbon Trust and participating schools will demonstrate what has been achieved during the pilot project.

Planning an event in 2012?
If you are planning an event to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, or the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games you may need to apply for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN).
These notices can be used to authorise relatively small-scale one off events, held in or on any premises involving no more than 499 people at any one time, and lasting less than 96 hours.More details on TENs can be found on our website.

Free energy awareness training
Camden Council is offering a free one day energy awareness course enabling you to give advice and help your community keep well and warm this winter.
The interactive day includes:
- Understanding energy use in the home
- Understanding and managing fuel bills
- Recognising fuel poverty and how to help
- Providing energy saving advice
- Practical thermal curtain lining workshop
We are offering a City and Guilds Energy Awareness (6281) qualification course to one person who attends our energy awareness day and has a great idea to help their community with their new knowledge and skills.
Training is open to all living or working with community groups in Camden. Travel costs and lunch will be provided.

Free Loft Insulation Scheme for Camden Tenants and Leaseholders.
Our partners Advent Energy Management have secured funding to carry out free loft insulation in council properties in Camden.
- You qualify if you are:
- a tenant or leaseholder
- live in a property with a pitched roof with 100mm or less of insulation
